Molly Ethel Bilbo Jones Martin, 93, of Laurel, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, with burial in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel. She was born April 8, 1908, in Pearl River County, the daughter of the late John Alonzo Bilbo and Molcie Eliza Smith Bilbo. Her father, John A. Bilbo, was the youngest brother of the late governor and senator Theodore G. Bilbo. Affectionately known as Ms. Molly, she loved people and never met a stranger. She had a generous heart, having given to numerous charitable organizations. She loved working in her yard and sharing her flowers with others. She loved music and played the piano. Her faith was very strong; she loved the Lord and felt that she was very blessed to have lived a long life. She was preceded in death by husbands, Claude V. Jones and Frank W. Martin Jr.; one son, Larry Donald Martin; and stepchildren, Claudius Jones, O.S. "Bud" Jones, Iva Lou Toler and Camilla "Girlie" Simmons. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian Sartin and Lloyd Sartin of Ridgeland, Florence Ann Maddox and Jerry Maddox of Charlotte, N.C., and Claudia Key and Robert Key of Gautier; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thadius M. Jones and Barbara Jones of Terry and Wallace A. Jones and Bobbie Jones of Madison; daughter-in-law, Wilma Jones of Jackson; 24 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; her beloved poodle Puddin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Chris Dupress, Mark Alexander, Gary Wilcher, Mark Davidson, Brian Obiol, Tom Burris, Bruce Coward, Jimmy Gray, David Stewart, Bob McCully, Joe Andrews and Chuck Huxster. Visitation will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. today, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
